INTERFOOD & DRINK 2011 Exhibition in Sofia

 The 10th jubilee edition of the international specialized exhibition INTERFOOD & DRINK will take place at Inter Expo Centre from 9th to 12th of November 2011. Ass. Prof Vladislav Popov, organic farming coordinator in the “New Thracian Gold” project, will deliver a speech on the topic Border areas as a unifying factor in the Balkan organic market.

 Bulgarian and foreign producers, distributors and retailers meet annually at this forum, presenting new and quality food products, packaging, modern technologies and machinery. INTERFOOD & DRINK enjoys the growing interest from traditional and new exhibitors who have the opportunity to make useful business contacts with professionals and tradesmen in the industry.

 Highlights of INTERFOOD & DRINK 2011:

 •  Participation of traditional and new Bulgarian and foreign companies that will present the latest developments in the field of food industry - different types of food, ready-to-cook food, spices, dried fruits, nuts, legumes, fish products, fresh fruits, cereals and more; various drinks, mineral and spring water, tea, coffee, etc.; food additives, flavours, emulsions, colouring agents, stabilizers, ingredients, etc.; machines and technologies for production and processing, complete baking lines, professional cleaning equipment, bottling machines, purification and drinking water processing systems, purification of natural, process and waste waters, transportation systems and others; packages; special flooring; specialized vehicles; specialized literature and more.

  •  Attractive ORGANIC ZONE devoted exclusively to certified food, beverages and other products of organic farming and production. The ORGANIC ZONE is organized for the second consecutive year with the support of the Bulgarian Organic Products Association and the Bulgarian Organic Trade Association. 

   The organizers, together with the Bulgarian Organic Products Association and the Bulgarian Organic Trade Association plan to hold a FORUM  on topics such as Organic marketing, training on "What is organic?" and others. Speakers from prestigious organizations such as the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), the Organic Retailers Association, the Romanian Organic Association EcoR, the Bulgarian Organic Products Association, the Bulgarian Organic Trade Association and others are expected to take part in it. Presentations, seminars, tastings and other events will enrich the program of the ORGANIC ZONE and allow the visitors and guests of the exhibition to learn about the latest in organic production and marketing of organic products, learn more about the benefits of organic products and healthy way of life, to establish business contacts.

 •  The DIET & FITNESS ZONE focuses on gym culture and the specific diets that are an integral part of the everyday life of thousands of people involved in bodybuilding and using diet foods, beverages and dietary supplements in their diet.

 •  For the second consecutive year – presentation of the Association of SLOW FOOD Convivia in Bulgaria, the concept of which for distinguishing traditional Bulgarian food and differentiate them from conventional ones, is very popular in our country. One of the highlights of the SLOW FOOD zone will be the presence of Mr. Piero Sardo (Italy), Chairman of the SLOW FOOD Foundation for Biodiversity. Among the exhibits will be the national culinary treasures – the green cheese from the village of Cherni Vit, the famous Smilyanski beans, mountain honey, etc.

   Along with INTERFOOD & DRINK, in the halls of Inter Expo Centre will take place the International Specialized Exhibitions MEATMANIA, THE WORLD OF MILK, SALON DE VIN and BULPEK.

   Traditionally, the opulent attending program will add to the better performance of the participants. Planned are various conferences, seminars, company presentations, tastings, contests and other business events.

   For the fourth consecutive year, the exhibitors will have the opportunity to participate in the GOLDEN MEDAL WITH DIPLOMA contest for high-quality finished food, drinks and/or additives recognized on the market.
